High Desert Romance

Natasha and Maris were married just prior to sunset, facing a backdrop of breathtaking panoramic terra cotta-colored vistas, in the High Sonoran Desert at Dry Creek Vista. The sacred Native American-style ceremony was performed by Mario Black Wolf, a Medicine Man from the Mechica-Apache Tribe. Our gorgeous, spirited couple picked out their own Native American blanket, which became part of the ceremonial service that would transform them from bride and groom to husband and wife. Bonnie Miller’s expert photography caught the light just perfectly, as it softly streamed through this life-changing event.

Natasha’s airy bouquet was created by Sedona Fine Art of Flowers, and was laced with baby’s breath, eucalyptus and soft white flowers. Anthony Flesch enhanced the ambiance with the melodic tones of the Native American flute.

With closest family and friends and their large and small Doberman Pinschers by their sides, they bowed their heads, laughed and celebrated, this day that would be unlike any other in their lives.

We invite you to set aside a moment to take in the stunning beauty of Natasha and Maris, and their extraordinarily unique wedding day.

“May you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life.”
— from an Apache Blessing

Congratulations, Natasha and Maris!

A Converse & Pearls Wedding!

We invite you to step into the delightful world of Alissa and Mitch, and their fun-loving wedding day! This couple really did it up their way for sure, complete with a full array of Converse shoes for themselves and their whole bridal party! The wedding took place at the spectacular Sky Ranch Lodge, and the spirit of this light-hearted couple was captured perfectly by Jess and Genie of Birdsong Photography, from the beginning of their preparations, to the moment of their sweet First Look on the bridge over the Koi Pond, to their final honorary toast!

Alissa chose bright yellow and white flowers for her bouquet, and these cheery theme colors were splashed throughout the wedding by Flowers Unlimited. Their casual Mexican dinner feast was provided by the professional staff at Tortas de Fuego, topped off by the always delicious cupcake treats created by Marla Hutchison. Verve Events and Tents supplied the rentals for this perfect setting.

Downtown Browne accented the ceremony and dinner with their musical talents, until a thunderstorm hit. Not surprisingly, our husband and wife didn’t miss a beat! They took the party to their rooms, including all of the cupcakes that we swooped up just before the downpour, and the celebration continued, energized by the raindrops and their brand new joining!

“Rain or shine, I’m yours forever!”

Happiness Always, Alissa and Mitch!!

Golden Grace

A shining golden grace was palpable, as it wove throughout Chelsea and Colby’s wedding. From the crisp medallion leaves adorning their romantic and playful engagement photos, to the mid-December glow of the setting butterscotch sun, as it slipped through the canopy of leafy trees to catch a glimpse of that delightful moment, the First Look. It was nestled in the cozy courtyard of the El Portal hotel, where our bride and groom set eyes on each other for the first time on their wedding day. With their cherished teacup Pomeranian Chi Chi (proudly displaying a natural golden crown) tucked safely under arm, Chelsea and Colby made their way to the charming Chapel at Tlaquepaque. The melodic beauty of Elizabeth Elgin’s classic gilded harp accompanied Chelsea, as she walked arm-in-arm with her beloved and proud parents down the aisle, sprinkled with flower petals complimenting her splendid bouquet of deep reds and maroons. All of the floral designs were meticulously created by Sedona Fine Art of Flowers. The sweet affection of their intimate circle of loved ones enveloped them, as the spirit of God’s love for this devoted couple infused their sacred ceremony, led by long-time Sedona officiant Anthony Flesch.

Before, during, and after the ceremony, expert photographer Andrew Holman could be found lending his gifted eye to every shot. Our newlyweds were so taken with his work, that he is now their official family photographer!

The ambiance of Tlaquepaque with its holiday décor made for an especially festive backdrop, and although well past Autumn, there were wispy, autumnal-like leaves carpeting the ground. We’d like to give a nod of appreciation here to the unsung heroes behind Tlaquepaque that made the magic of Chelsea and Colby’s wedding happen, owner Wendy Lippman and manager Liz Mohler.

After the photos, it was off to the reception! Chef Lisa Dahl is credited for hosting Chelsea and Colby’s reception celebration at the newest addition to her Sedona family of restaurants, the exquisite Latin Inspired Grill, Mariposa. And anxiously awaiting the wedding party’s arrival was a delightfully delicious spiced carrot cake with cream cheese filling, and salted caramel cupcakes by Marla Hutchison Cakes.

Northern Arizona Limousine shuttled our happy couple and guests to and fro throughout the day and evening with elegance, and the expertise of Taltos Video Productions will enable Chelsea and Colby to relive their wedding over and over again throughout the years.

All of the elements of our finest, most complete package, the Tlaquepaque Completar were brought together at just the right times, to create a truly enchanting wedding experience for Chelsea and Colby.

The first definition of grace from Dictionary.com is elegance or beauty of form, manner, motion, or action. This couldn’t more appropriately describe our bride, Chelsea. Their second definition of grace is a pleasing or attractive quality or endowment. The quality of graciousness truly shines in and from her. From the beginning to the end of the planning process, Chelsea showed us nothing but grace. Her kindness is palpable, and when we met Colby, it was clear they were a match made in heaven!

It was our absolute honor and pleasure to plan your wedding, Chelsea and Colby, and we can’t wait to see your family grow over the years, infused with the golden grace of your love!

Sacred Native Nuptials

Our adventuresome and strikingly handsome couple, Cecilia and Thomas, became husband and wife high above Sedona proper, at the magnificent Merry Go Round Rock! Bon Miller Wedding Photography caught it all, as the excited bride and groom and their guests traversed the winding, bouncy road in jeeps provided by A Day in the West, to this truly one-of-a-kind setting. Native American Medicine Man Mario Blackwolf, from the Mechica Apache tribe, performed the sacred ceremony, with the smell of sage dancing on the wind, and Oman Ken’s Native American flute music filling the vistas with an ancient spiritual melody.

Upon their return to level ground, they landed at Los Abrigados Resort and Spa. As their guests enjoyed an inviting cocktail hour at Timo Restaurant, our newlyweds snuck off for a few more photos down by the creek. When they rejoined their party, they glided elegantly into their First Dance. Cecilia and Thomas then tipped their glasses together in celebration, as they  appreciated their unique cake, the topper being a whimsical expression of the moment that they met—on an airplane!

We send warm and happy wishes to you, Cecilia and Thomas, for a marriage graced with an exciting and romantic road that never ends!

Romance That Rocks!

Susy and Robby were a quintessentially stunningly-cool wedding couple! Check out their fashion statements—what a breathtaking dress and trendy suit!! They brought a bit of their hometown Miami spirit with them, to be sure. We were hired for Day Of Coordination, so when we first met Susy and Robby they were dressed to perfection. Their beauty and chic style were matched only by their kindness of spirit. These two were shining on every level!

Our happy couple exchanged their vows with panoramic red rocks and the quaint city of Sedona as their backdrop, at the ceremony site of Sky Ranch Lodge. Then we saw them off to Huckaby Trail for some up close and personal romantic red rock photos. Afterwards Agave of Sedona was the stunning setting for the time of their lives celebrating their marriage with family and friends.

Susy and Robby chose Mike Olbinski Photography to bring their special day to life, and Sedona Fine Art of Flowers tastefully added succulents to elegant arrangements, bringing a southwestern flair to the day. Our own Susan Perry wove the moments of the day seamlessly together, making sure that all was as it should be.

A toast to the happy couple:

“May thy life be long and happy, thy cares and sorrows few;
And the many friends around thee prove faithful, fond and true.
May your voyage through life be as happy and as free
as the dancing waves on the deep blue Miami sea.”

Happiness Always, Susy and Robby!

Here Come the Brides!

14We were so excited to help our two Sweetheart Brides, Terra and Megan, create their one-of-a-kind wedding day in Sedona! The events began with their First Look, and then they went on to take advantage of the breathtaking red rock panoramic views at Back O’ Beyond. Next, and of course, the highlight of the day, was their intimate wedding ceremony, which they shared with the closest of family and friends. It took place on a carpet of sprawling green grass, in front of a timeless terracotta-roofed gazebo at Poco Diablo Resort. A gorgeous photo session followed the ceremony, graced by a magnificently romantic willow tree, with their loved ones (pups included!) by their side. Terra and Megan’s reception brunch played out immediately afterwards in the ballroom, as their true love was celebrated by all.

Thank you, Terra and Megan, for trusting Weddings In Sedona to weave together your stories, laughter, thoughts, colors, tastes and inspirations, to create your extraordinary wedding day!

Also, a shout out to the professional vendors that helped to bring our special Brides’ dreams to life!

cody-clayton-1You just can’t get any more romantic and down-to-earth than Cody and Clayton’s elopement at Merry Go Round Rock! Complete with cowboy hat, boots, a jeep and dizzying red rock vistas, this wedding was any country western couple’s dream. Cody’s bouquet reflected her sweet and spunky spirit, and Clayton was as charming as his bright blue eyes!

Our planning brought together the following vendors to make sure the day went off without a hitch (pun intended!):  Long time Sedona officiant Anthony Flesch, Sedona Fine Art of Flowers added splashes of color, A Day in the West provided a wild ride, Taryn with Love My Life Photography created photos filled with heart and style, and it wouldn’t have been legal without Alexandra of Weddings In Sedona happily adding her signature as a witness.

On the solid rock of trust
They could be a million miles from each other
And still be side by side in love.
I want to love you like that forever.”
