Tlaquepaque “Best of Everything” Union!

We invite you to take an exclusive journey with us, as we celebrate the marriage of Naomi and Andrew—they came all the way from Virginia to get married in our quaint town of Sedona! We had a blast planning their wedding, and being there on the day itself to watch them infuse their experience with laughter and meaning was truly a gift.

Tlaquepaque lived up to its meaning, “Best of Everything” on the day of Naomi and Andrew’s wedding, a uniquely beautiful backdrop for a uniquely beautiful couple! A symphony of bright flowers adorned the event, as hot pinks and deep purples nuzzled together in bouquets and arrangements bursting with orchids, hydrangeas, anemones, lilies, roses, callas, ranunculus, freesias and stock, all artistically arranged with a “pop of whimsy” by Mountain High Flowers. What a perfect accent to the emerald green dresses Naomi chose for her attendants! Their closest family and friends anxiously anticipated the couple’s arrival, as Eric Miller’s guitar gracefully set the mood with the classic melody of Pachelbel’s Canon in D. At that moment we watched gorgeous Naomi walked down the aisle to meet Andrew, her handsome husband-to-be. The ceremony was performed by our own Rev. Susan Perry, who herself had a hard time keeping her eyes dry!

Then on to the sparkling cocktail hour and stunning reception! Verve Events & Tents set the stage with tables and chairs, specialty linens, dinnerware, and more, creating an oh-so enchanted evening. Filling the plates with delectable fare, and the glasses with luscious libations, was Bonnie Grant and her crew from Rosalie’s of Sedona. The evening was topped off with a simply exquisite lemon lover’s cake with raspberry filling by Marla Hutchison Cakes.

There to creatively capture each memorable moment were top-notch Sedona-based photographers Katrina and Andrew of Sedona Bride. From the casual engagement photos, to the bride and groom “selfie” just after the ceremony, to the quiet moments stolen under an arch made of bricks, and so much more, Sedona Bride was there to capture it all.

Naomi and Andrew were such a joy to work with, that it didn’t really seem like work! They were so loving and inclusive, so responsive and appreciative — what a pleasure! We’d like to take this moment to thank Naomi and Andrew for choosing Weddings In Sedona for their “day of days.” And, we wish you, Naomi and Andrew, a lifetime of delightful experiences, woven together with miles and miles of laughter, happiness and contentment.

Sacred Native Nuptials

Our adventuresome and strikingly handsome couple, Cecilia and Thomas, became husband and wife high above Sedona proper, at the magnificent Merry Go Round Rock! Bon Miller Wedding Photography caught it all, as the excited bride and groom and their guests traversed the winding, bouncy road in jeeps provided by A Day in the West, to this truly one-of-a-kind setting. Native American Medicine Man Mario Blackwolf, from the Mechica Apache tribe, performed the sacred ceremony, with the smell of sage dancing on the wind, and Oman Ken’s Native American flute music filling the vistas with an ancient spiritual melody.

Upon their return to level ground, they landed at Los Abrigados Resort and Spa. As their guests enjoyed an inviting cocktail hour at Timo Restaurant, our newlyweds snuck off for a few more photos down by the creek. When they rejoined their party, they glided elegantly into their First Dance. Cecilia and Thomas then tipped their glasses together in celebration, as they  appreciated their unique cake, the topper being a whimsical expression of the moment that they met—on an airplane!

We send warm and happy wishes to you, Cecilia and Thomas, for a marriage graced with an exciting and romantic road that never ends!

Romance That Rocks!

Susy and Robby were a quintessentially stunningly-cool wedding couple! Check out their fashion statements—what a breathtaking dress and trendy suit!! They brought a bit of their hometown Miami spirit with them, to be sure. We were hired for Day Of Coordination, so when we first met Susy and Robby they were dressed to perfection. Their beauty and chic style were matched only by their kindness of spirit. These two were shining on every level!

Our happy couple exchanged their vows with panoramic red rocks and the quaint city of Sedona as their backdrop, at the ceremony site of Sky Ranch Lodge. Then we saw them off to Huckaby Trail for some up close and personal romantic red rock photos. Afterwards Agave of Sedona was the stunning setting for the time of their lives celebrating their marriage with family and friends.

Susy and Robby chose Mike Olbinski Photography to bring their special day to life, and Sedona Fine Art of Flowers tastefully added succulents to elegant arrangements, bringing a southwestern flair to the day. Our own Susan Perry wove the moments of the day seamlessly together, making sure that all was as it should be.

A toast to the happy couple:

“May thy life be long and happy, thy cares and sorrows few;
And the many friends around thee prove faithful, fond and true.
May your voyage through life be as happy and as free
as the dancing waves on the deep blue Miami sea.”

Happiness Always, Susy and Robby!

Here Come the Brides!

We were so excited to help our two Sweetheart Brides, Terra and Megan, create their one-of-a-kind wedding day in Sedona! The events began with their First Look, and then they went on to take advantage of the breathtaking red rock panoramic views at Back O’ Beyond. Next, and of course, the highlight of the day, was their intimate wedding ceremony, which they shared with the closest of family and friends. It took place on a carpet of sprawling green grass, in front of a timeless terracotta-roofed gazebo at Poco Diablo Resort. A gorgeous photo session followed the ceremony, graced by a magnificently romantic willow tree, with their loved ones (pups included!) by their side. Terra and Megan’s reception brunch played out immediately afterwards in the ballroom, as their true love was celebrated by all.

Thank you, Terra and Megan, for trusting Weddings In Sedona to weave together your stories, laughter, thoughts, colors, tastes and inspirations, to create your extraordinary wedding day!

Also, a shout out to the professional vendors that helped to bring our special Brides’ dreams to life!

Love at L’Auberge

22.End.Sherri.Rob.LAub.JaneWoods

We were delighted when our friend and former associate of Weddings In Sedona, Sherri, asked us to help plan her wedding! We instantly fell in love with Rob, too, and hit the ground running to bring everything together for their special ceremony and reception at the elegent L’Auberge de Sedona.

This handsome couple (and Ginger, their pup!), enjoyed an intimate ceremony on the banks of Oak Creek, with their closest family and friends, as they nestled beneath the lush green trees that arched overhead.

Sherri’s former boss and personal friend, Anthony Flesch, had the honor of officiating the ceremony, as the music of Eric Miller’s guitar filled the air with magic. Jane in the Woods Photography captured the joy of the day, while Flowers Unlimited brought seasonal color to the festivities with fabulous fresh floral arrangements and personal flowers.

Thank you, Sherri and Rob, for giving us the honor of planning your wedding day—we send you our heartfelt wishes for a lifetime of extraordinary moments together!

Winter Wedding Wonderland

01.01.15-erin-john-157-X2 (1)

Although warm weather weddings tend to be the popular choice, getting married in the winter can be an even more beautiful experience. Erin and John discovered this for themselves during their New Year’s Day marriage at Red Rock Crossing.

The enormous amount of snow (for a desert!) was a welcome surprise when they showed up for their nuptials. This was the most snowfall in a 24-hour period that Sedona has had in years – 9 inches!!

Their white wedding was performed by Weddings in Sedona’s senior planner, Rev. Susan Perry.

The contrast between Erin’s black dress, red roses, and the white snow was absolutely breathtaking.
